Here’s how to treat acne on the butt and get a smooth butt

While acne on their facial skin is a very common sight, some people develop these annoying bumps on their buttocks as well. Butt acnes are small red bumps and are caused by an inflammation of the hair follicle known as folliculitis. Yeast, fungi, bacteria and itching are the main causes of acne on the buttocks. With the summer in full swing, the hot temperature may cause an increase in acne breakouts in the body including acne. Before we begin our quest to find butt acne treatments, let’s find out why we get it.

To answer this question, Health Shots spoke to Dr. Nivedita Dadu, a celebrity dermatologist, founder and head of Dr. Nivedita Dadu’s Dermatology Clinic.

Dr. Dado listed the following causes of butt acne:

  1. One of the reasons for the appearance of acne on the buttocks is the hair follicles.
  2. Friction, sweating, and wearing clothes that are too tight can cause inflammation.
  3. These infections are itchy and painful and can also turn into large cystic blisters.
  4. Extreme heat and sweaty clothes can lead to acne breakouts. During this heat, the sweat glands work harder and cause acne to appear on areas such as the chest, buttocks, and even the thighs.

If you are looking forward to having a soft butt for babies, here is how to treat butt acne:

1. Try dry brushing the body

Try following a dry brushing body routine to get rid of butt acne. When choosing a brush, choose a brush with bristles made of natural fibers. After you shower, pat dry your skin, and rub your buttocks area in circular motions. Doing this two or more times a week helps tighten the skin, increase blood circulation, and promote cell renewal. Increased blood circulation aids in detoxification and helps treat buttock acne.

2. Peel your pom

Make sure you wash your butt area regularly and even exfoliate your butt every once in a while. You can also use exfoliating hand gloves and a body scrub to get soft skin. It also helps soothe the skin, calm inflammation, and treat buttock acne. If you have large boils in there, peeling will only make it worse. In this case, avoid peeling. Instead of harsh cleansers, use a body wash with salicylic acids that help slough off dead skin.

3. Calamine lotion

Post-cleansing routine, apply a thin layer of calamine lotion. Calamine is loaded with zinc oxide that helps control excess oil and treat acne without causing any irritation.

4. Wear clean underwear

For butt acne treatment, your personal hygiene should be on top! Before exercising, you must change your underwear beforehand. Once you have finished exercising, change into your underwear again. After your workout, take a shower to avoid any chances of bacteria growth.

5. Wear breathable fabrics

Tight clothes can be one of the causes of acne on the buttocks. They can cause a lot of friction and can lead to small bumps and inflammation later. To avoid acne breakouts, wear comfortable, well-ventilated clothing. Avoid wearing skinny jeans and choose pants or shorts made from natural fabrics such as cotton and linen.

These tips will help you get rid of acne and pimples. It will ensure that your butt is smooth and supple in no time.
